We grew up with M&A

Bruce Burns started his successful transaction career as V.P. of Mergers and Acquisitions for Abbey Home Healthcare. In that role, he was personally responsible for over $300M in completed transactions over a 4 year period. Bruce was the catalyst in initiating the eventual $1.1B merger of Abbey Home Healthcare and Homedco to form Apria Healthcare in 1995.

Realizing there was a need for qualified, client-focused merger and acquisition services in the lower middle market, Bruce transitioned from the corporate environment to launch Affinity Ventures in 1994. His initial focus was helping small to medium-sized healthcare companies achieve their divestiture goals. As the firm grew, completing transaction after transaction, Affinity expanded into other business sectors including energy, business services, construction, and manufacturing.

The team Bruce has assembled represents one of the most capable and success-proven M&A groups in the country. The firm now has multiple affiliates who rely on Affinity Ventures to assist their clients in maximizing the value of their companies. In 2014, he became the managing member of the 5-state Mountain West Region of Murphy Business.  This relationship enables the Affinity Ventures team to utilize the many years of M&A transaction experience to assist Murphy agents with larger middle-market transactions.
