Prior to joining Affinity Ventures, Lew enjoyed a successful 40 year career in the health care field, working with
both disposable and implantable medical devices as well as capital equipment. He progressed through the disciplines of research, product
development, sales, marketing and spent the last 30 years in several general management positions.
Positions held include Manager of New Product Development, Johnson & Johnson, President, Kleen Test Products, Executive VP, Meridian Industries,
President, Intermedics Orthopedics, Group VP of Global Marketing, Carbomedics Inc., Senior VP, North America, Hollister Incorporated and President,
Eagle Technology North America.
Accomplishments include development/commercialization of 14 new medical products at Johnson & Johnson, generation of a 54% revenue increase and
60% profit increase at Kleen Test Products, commercialization of a new hip prosthesis with sales of $35 million at Intermedics Orthopedics,
global introduction of a new heart valve with sales of $47 million at Carbomedics, doubling of the annual North America revenue to $160 million
at Hollister Incorporated and launching of the Japanese Magnetoencephalography (MEG) brain imaging device into North America at Eagle Technology
North America.
Lew received a B.S. in Chemistry, with honors, from Johns Hopkins University and completed one full year of study in the Graduate School of
Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, on a National Institutes of Health Fellowship. He has co-authored 6 publications and a graduate level
textbook chapter.
